Installing
Version 0.5.0 still carries Cobbleday's old name, so the app is called cairn on your computer.
macOS
- Open the .dmg and drag cairn into Applications.
-
The app isn't signed by Apple yet, so the first launch needs one extra step. macOS remembers it afterwards.
- macOS 14 and earlier: right-click (or Control-click) cairn in Applications, choose Open, then Open again.
- macOS 15 and later: double-click cairn once and close the warning. Then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, click Open Anyway next to the message about cairn, and confirm.
- Any version, in Terminal (also fixes "cairn is damaged and can't be opened"):
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/cairn.app
Linux
- .deb: in the folder you downloaded it to, run
sudo apt install ./Cobbleday-0.5.0-linux-amd64.deb - AppImage: make it runnable, then start it (keep it somewhere you can write to, like
~/Applications):chmod +x Cobbleday-0.5.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage ./Cobbleday-0.5.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage

SHA256SUMS lists each file's checksum. With it in the same folder, run
shasum -a 256 -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS on macOS or
sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS on Linux.
