Terms of use
Draft — to be reviewed. These terms are a first draft and haven't been reviewed or adopted yet. Until they are, nothing here binds you or Cobbleday. Points marked [to decide] are open.
Draft of October 10, 2026.
These terms cover your use of Cobbleday, the notes, tasks and calendar app at app.cobbleday.com, its desktop apps, and this website. "Cobbleday", "we" and "us" mean the operator of the service. By using Cobbleday you agree to these terms. The privacy policy explains what happens to your data and is part of them.
1. The beta
- Cobbleday is in beta. It's invite-only: you can sign in if your Google account's email address is on the beta list.
- It's free during the beta. If that ever changes, we'll tell you in advance, and nothing you've already made will be held back. [to decide: how much notice]
- Being a beta, features change, things break, and the service may be down at times. Please keep your own copies of anything important (Settings → Account → Export your data).
2. Your account
- You sign in with Google. Keep that account secure; anything done through it in Cobbleday counts as done by you.
- One person per account. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live. [to decide: minimum age]
3. Your content
- What you put in Cobbleday (notes, tasks, events, files) stays yours.
- You let Cobbleday store, copy, sync and process it only as needed to run the service for you: syncing it between your devices, backing it up, and sending it to Google Calendar and Drive when you use those features.
- You can export everything or delete your account at any time, as described in the privacy policy.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't use Cobbleday to break the law, to store or share content you have no right to, to attack, overload or probe the service, or to get into anyone else's account or data. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why when we can.
5. Google services
Calendar sync and Drive backups use your Google account, so Google's own terms apply to those. Cobbleday's use of Google data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, as the privacy policy describes. You can revoke Cobbleday's access to Google at any time.
6. No warranty
Cobbleday is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep your data safe and the service running, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or time, arising from your use of Cobbleday. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law. [to decide: an overall cap, and how consumer law where users live applies]
8. Ending
- You can stop using Cobbleday and delete your account whenever you like.
- If we ever close Cobbleday, we'll give you notice and time to export your data first. [to decide: how much notice]
9. Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
10. Law
[to decide: governing law and courts.]
